Jordan Bacon

I was in the FFS from November 2001 to June 2003 and it was the worst experience I have had in my life. At least 4x per day, I was told I was going to go to hell because I'm gay and that I need to repent and save myself before it's too late. Father Stevens, Paul Geer, Jan Cheripko, Susan and Bob Runge, Curt, Gabby, Mike and Robin Ducey were the main people who were always harassing me. I was told by the FFS that I was one of the worst students they have ever had and that I will not do anything in my life. I have had numerous nightmares regarding the abuse I received while attending there.

I was on several work sanctions, building roads, raking leaves, shoveling snow, even at Sidney and Rita's house on top of the hill, mowing grass, cleaning the kitchen, helping the kitchen out, etc for 6 months at a time. I refused to admit to things I know I didn't do. Some things were, looking down a girls shirt during play rehearsal, flirting with the girls, touching the girls, rubbing against them, etc. I could not admit to something I wasn't doing. So at the "table" I explained that those were all impossible accusations since I was gay. I always got screamed at, never had a home visit, rarely was in school, was always on blackout, not only with my family but with my cousin who also attended the school. I had to eat Maypo, Tuna sandwiches, both for lunch and dinner for weeks on end, stand in the corner and get to sit down every 10 minutes at the end of every hour, copy the bible, read the Alcoholics, Sexaholics, Narcotics Anonymous books and the only person I could talk to was my sponsor, who rarely was ever there.

The kids that were anchors and enemies to me have since then apologized and we have become friends, saying that they didn't know what else to do to get out the FFS, except to comply with all of the rules. Also, to get very personal, I was labeled a SA or Sexaholic because I was "impure" at 16 and 17 years old. I think that is repulsive. I was forced to go to meetings because of it and was told I was a bad person for having "impure thoughts." These are just some of the things that took place while I was at the FFS. These type of things need to stop. I was sent there to get help, not be abused, mocked and disrespected for who I am!
